I am a mama, wife, and business professional, living in beautiful Vancouver, BC, Canada.  

My name is Mercedes.

After a long trying to conceive journey, finding out we were pregnant with our daughter was such a blessing. We were so elated. So hopeful. But also scared. I mean being a first time parent is petrifying sometimes!  

Being a millennial mama (ugh I hate to admit that for some reason… not the mama part, the millennial part) I turned to Instagram to find other mamas to help me along this motherhood path. It was only after hitting my breaking point and finally being diagnosed with severe postpartum anxiety, that I thought ‘why not share my journey with other people’. I KNEW there had to be other mamas out there that were struggling like me. Had questions like me. Had similar interests. Similar points of view. So Mama Who Works was born.   

I won’t lie. It took me almost two months to even draft my first post. And to open the account up to the public. But I am so happy I did. I love the amazing women I have met through my account. The support. The love. The advice. The conversations. I TRULY feel blessed!  

I am not here to say I am someone special. I am by no means perfect. I struggle. And I’m sure I get things wrong every once in a while.   

So who am I? I am me. A hard working mama who loves her daughter more than anything. And is just trying to do my best 🤍
